circa 1910, with octagonal 22 1/2in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, replacement 'Marbles' rear-sight, the top-flat signed 'THE REMINGTON ARMS UNION METALLIC CTG. CART. CO. INC, REMINGTON ILION WORKS, ILION NEW-YORK U.S.A', and also with the 'Remington' trademark at breech, rolling block action with exposed hammer, the left hand side of receiver marked 'MODEL 4' together with the serial number and mounted with a coin-slotted take-down thumb-wheel, walnut butt-stock (repaired at wrist and head), smooth iron shotgun heel-plate and smooth splinter fore-end (drilled holes to underside)
